Signs to look for
Signs it is time for a fan
A fan is one of the cheapest ways to make a room comfortable, as long as it is mounted properly.
A fan that wobbles or hums every time it is switched on.
Bedrooms that stay warm long after the sun has gone down.
New fans already bought and still in their boxes.
An old light fitting you would rather swap for a fan with a light.
An alfresco or patio that needs an outdoor rated fan.

What we do
Why fans go wrong
Almost always the mount. A fan fixed to a batten rather than to structure will transmit every vibration into the ceiling, and a slightly out of balance blade set will hum through the whole room. Neither shows up in the first five minutes, which is why people end up with a fan they never use.
We mount to structure, balance the blades and run it up through every speed before we pack up.
He cleaned up after himself, gave us an introduction to our new remote-controlled fan.
Fans versus air conditioning
In a Perth summer a fan is not a substitute for air conditioning, but it does let you run the air conditioning at a higher set point for the same comfort, and it costs a fraction of the running cost. In the shoulder seasons a fan on its own is often all you need. If you want both, we install split system and ducted air conditioning as well.
- Fans mounted to structure, not just to plasterboard or a batten.
- Existing fans replaced, including removing the old one.
- Fan and light combination units, wired for separate switching.
- DC fans with remote or wall controllers, paired and demonstrated.
- Outdoor and alfresco rated fans.
- New circuits or switch drops where the room does not have one.
- Blades balanced and every speed tested before we leave.
How it works
How the job runs
How many, which rooms
Tell us the rooms and whether the fans are already bought. Both are completely fine and both change the price.
Mount and switching
Fans go to structure, never just plasterboard or a batten. If the room needs a switch drop or a separate switch for the light, that gets sorted on the day.
Balanced and run up
Blades balanced and every speed run before we pack up, because a hum in a bedroom is the difference between a fan you use and one you never touch.
Shown how it works
Remotes paired and demonstrated, and the smoke alarms checked while we are up there.
Aftercare

FAQs
Questions we get asked
Can you install a fan I already bought?
Yes, and most of ours are exactly that, including fans from the big lighting retailers.
Is there a light switch already, or do you need to add one?
If the room already has a ceiling light there is usually a switch drop we can work with, and that is the straightforward case most rooms fall into. Where there is not, we run a new one. We confirm which you have on the day and tell you before we start, so nothing becomes a surprise mid-job.
What about a fan with a light?
Common and straightforward. Worth wiring so the fan and the light switch separately, which needs to be decided before we start rather than after.
Are DC fans worth it?
They use less power, run quieter and give you more speed steps and a remote. For a bedroom, the quietness alone usually justifies it.
