Team led by Jack, fast professional install. I was kept up to date through the process, then given a full explanation on the unit, even took away rubbish, not filling my bins. Very happy with service.Tracey ConwayInstall and handover

Signs to look for
Signs a room needs a split system
Tell us the rooms and roughly which way they face. That is enough for us to start.
One room is never comfortable however long the rest of the house is cooled.
An old unit is noisy or struggling on the hottest days of the year.
A portable unit or a pedestal fan is doing a job it was never built for.
You have solar and want the daytime cooling to run off your own power.
A new room, granny flat or extension needs its own cooling.
What is included
What the install covers
What we install
Split system installation, done as the electrical job it actually is. A split system needs a dedicated circuit and isolator from the switchboard, and that is the part that gets treated as an afterthought when the unit turns up on a truck with a fitter behind it.
Sizing, and why bigger is not safer
An oversized unit cools the room quickly, then short cycles, which means it never runs long enough to dehumidify and it wears itself out doing it. Undersized runs flat out on the hottest day and never gets there. Sizing depends on room volume, glazing, orientation, insulation and how many people are in there, not on a rule of thumb per square metre.
We can help you keep cool in summer and warm in winter.
Doing it alongside solar
Air conditioning is the load that makes solar worth having in Perth, because the two peak at the same time. If you are considering both, doing them together means one switchboard visit, one coordinated job and a system sized with the air conditioning already counted in.
- Room assessed for size, glazing, orientation and insulation before a unit is chosen.
- Indoor head positioned for actual airflow, not just for the easiest pipe run.
- Outdoor unit sited for airflow, service access and noise to you and your neighbours.
- Dedicated circuit and isolator from the switchboard, correctly sized.
- Pipe and drain runs planned to be as short and as hidden as the building allows.
- Condensate drainage that actually drains, and does not discharge somewhere silly.
- Commissioned, tested and demonstrated, including the controller and timers.
How it works
How the job runs
Room by room
Volume, glazing, orientation, insulation and how many people use it. Sizing off square metres alone is how people end up with a unit that short cycles.
Siting both units
Indoor head placed for real airflow, outdoor unit placed for airflow, service access and noise to you and your neighbours. Pipe runs kept short and out of sight.
Install day
Dedicated circuit and isolator from the board, pipe and drain runs in, condensate draining somewhere sensible.
Commissioned and demonstrated
Charged, tested, controller and timers set up with you, and the RCD and smoke alarms checked before we leave.
Aftercare
The same number to ring if anything is not right afterwards. Your guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law apply to our work, as our Warranty Terms set out.
FAQs
Questions we get asked
What size unit do I need?
It depends on the room volume, how much glass it has and which way it faces, how well it is insulated and how many people use it. We work it out on site rather than applying a rule of thumb.
Do you service or repair air conditioners?
We install split system and ducted air conditioning. If you have an existing unit that needs looking at, get in touch anyway and we will point you in the right direction.
Does it need its own circuit?
Yes. A split system needs a dedicated circuit and isolator from the switchboard, which is part of why this is an electrical job rather than a delivery.
Can you install a unit I bought?
Yes, provided it is a suitable size for the room. If we think it is the wrong size we will tell you before installing it, not after.
How long does it take?
A single head is usually a day. Longer if the pipe run is difficult or the switchboard needs work first.

Wow, after dealing with contractors who are late or cancel. I have to say the guys at Solark are the best. On time, pricing is great and no mess to clean up afterwards. Thank you Jack and the boys.Michael BGeneral electrical
