Warranty Terms
Last updated 20 October 2026
1. Definitions and interpretation
In these Warranty Terms:
a. ACL means the Australian Consumer Law in Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth).
b. Customer means the original purchaser of the Supplier.
c. Quote means a written quotation provided by the Supplier to the Customer setting out the details and price of the goods and the price of the services that the Supplier proposes to supply to the Customer.
d. Supplier means SolArk Electrical Pty Ltd (ABN 37 679 266 418).
e. System means the solar photovoltaic and/or battery energy storage system installed by the Supplier.
f. Workmanship means the Supplier’s design, mounting, wiring, termination, earthing and commissioning of the System.
g. Warranty Period means 25 years beginning on the date the System is commissioned by the Supplier.
2. Workmanship warranty
a. The Supplier warrants to the Customer that, during the Warranty Period, the Workmanship will be free from defects attributable to the Supplier’s design or installation of the System, including defects in mounting, wiring, termination, earthing and commissioning.
b. The Supplier does not provide any warranty to the battery energy storage system (i.e. the equipment) when the Supplier installs it to an existing solar photovoltaic system. The Supplier provides warranty only to the Workmanship undertaken to install the battery energy storage system to an existing solar photovoltaic system. In any event, the Supplier does not provide any warranty to any workmanship and/or equipment for installation of any equipment by a third party.
c. Where a valid claim is made, the Supplier will, at its own cost, investigate and rectify the defective Workmanship and any resulting costs limited to reasonable labour, travel, removal, reinstallation and access-equipment costs. The Supplier will not charge the Customer for a valid claim.
d. The Supplier will contact the Customer or attend the installation address within 48-hour response period, calculated by reference to business days after receiving a valid claim for a property within the Perth metropolitan area. This is a response commitment, not a guarantee that rectification will be completed within that period. Safety-critical matters will be prioritised.
e. The warranty granted to the Customer is conditional on the Customer complying in full of all of our payment terms. The Customer warrants that the Customer will undertake annual maintenance, at the Customer’s costs, that is compliant with AS/NZS 5033:2021 standards. Nothing in this clause excuses damage actually caused by a separate external event or prevents reasonable steps to facilitate safe investigation and rectification.
f. This express warranty is provided only to the Customer and does not transfer automatically to a subsequent owner on sale of the property. This does not limit rights that another person may have under the ACL or other applicable law.
3. Work not covered by this express warranty
a. The 25-year express Workmanship warranty applies only to the Supplier’s solar and battery installation work. It does not extend to general electrical work, switchboard upgrades, electric vehicle charger installation or air-conditioning installation, unless expressly agreed in writing.
b. The absence of a separate express workmanship warranty for the work described in clause 3(a) does not exclude or restrict any consumer guarantee or other right or remedy arising under applicable law. The Supplier remains responsible for its obligations in relation to that work.
4. Product and manufacturer warranties
a. Product warranties for panels, inverters, batteries, chargers, air-conditioning units and other equipment are provided by their respective manufacturers on the terms applicable to those products. The relevant manufacturer warranty documents and periods will be supplied or identified with the Quote or handover documents.
b. The Supplier is responsible under this express warranty for defects attributable to its Workmanship. Where a fault appears to arise from equipment, the Supplier will lodge and manage the manufacturer warranty claim on the Customer’s behalf, including coordinating reasonable communications and arrangements for inspection or replacement at the Customer’s costs. That is, the Customer pays the Supplier for it to inspect the faulty equipment, coordinate reasonable communications and arrangements for inspection or replacement.
c. The allocation in clause 4(b) does not relieve the Supplier of any responsibility it has as supplier of goods or services under the ACL. The Customer may have rights against the Supplier independently of any manufacturer warranty.
5. Exclusions and limitations
a. This express Workmanship warranty does not cover a defect or damage to the extent it was caused by:
i. severe weather, lightning, fire, flood or another external event unrelated to defective Workmanship;
ii. misuse, accidental damage, pests or interference by third parties;
iii. alteration, relocation or repair by another person, but only where that act caused the relevant defect or damage;
iv. network or grid disturbances beyond the Supplier’s control; or
v. deterioration or failure of equipment not caused by defective Workmanship.
b. No exclusion operates merely because another contractor has worked on the property, or because the Customer sold the property, except as expressly stated in clause 2(f) regarding transfer of this additional warranty.
c. Nothing in these Warranty Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee or any other right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.
6. Making a claim
a. To make a claim, the Customer may contact the Supplier by telephone, email or post using the Supplier’s details provided to the Customer on the Quote. The Customer should provide their name, installation address, a description of the fault and, where reasonably available, the Quote or invoice number, photographs and relevant error messages.
b. The Supplier will acknowledge and assess the claim, arrange an inspection where reasonably necessary, and advise the Customer whether the issue appears to concern Workmanship, equipment or another cause. The Supplier may request reasonable access to the System for safe inspection and rectification.
c. The Customer is not required to pay for making a valid claim or for the costs described in clause 2(c). Where a claim is not covered by this express warranty, any proposed charge for non-warranty work will be explained and agreed before chargeable work proceeds, subject to applicable law.
d. The Customer should notify the Supplier promptly of a safety risk and avoid using unsafe equipment. An otherwise valid claim will not be rejected solely because the Customer did not notify the Supplier immediately.
7. Australian Consumer Law
a. The benefits given by this warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies of the consumer under a law in relation to the goods or services to which the warranty relates.
b. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
c. Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled:
i. to cancel your service contract with us; and
ii. to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. If the failure does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have problems with the service rectified in a reasonable time and, if this is not done, to cancel your contract and obtain a refund for the unused portion of the contract.
8. General
a. Any rectification carried out under these Warranty Terms does not reduce the remaining Warranty Period. Any additional warranty applying to replacement equipment is governed by its own terms and applicable law.
b. The Supplier may arrange for qualified employees, subcontractors or manufacturers to investigate or carry out rectification, but remains responsible for its obligations under these Warranty Terms.
c. These Warranty Terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, subject to applicable Commonwealth law.

What is covered?
We provide a 25-year warranty against defects in only our solar and battery installation workmanship, starting when your system is commissioned. The Customer warrants that the Customer will be undertaking annual maintenance, at the Customer’s costs, that is compliant with AS/NZS 5033:2021 standards. The warranty granted to the Customer is conditional on the Customer complying in full with all of our payment terms. It covers how we designed, mounted, wired, terminated, earthed and commissioned your system.
What will we do?
If your claim is valid, we will rectify the defective work and resulting costs limited to reasonable labour, travel, removal, reinstallation and access-equipment costs. For Perth metropolitan properties, we will contact you or attend within two (2) Business Days.
What is not included?

The warranty is for the original purchaser and does not automatically transfer when the property is sold.
Equipment faults
The Supplier is responsible under this express warranty for defects attributable to its Workmanship. Where a fault appears to arise from equipment, the Supplier will lodge and manage the manufacturer warranty claim on the Customer’s behalf, including coordinating reasonable communications and arrangements for inspection or replacement at the Customer’s costs. That is, the Customer pays the Supplier for it to inspect the faulty equipment, coordinate reasonable communications and arrangements for inspection or replacement.
How to claim
Call or email us, describe the problem and provide any available invoice details, photographs or error messages. We will assess the issue and arrange reasonable access if inspection is needed. There is no charge for a valid claim.
Your consumer rights
Our warranties are in addition to the guarantees and remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law. Refer to clause 7 of the full Warranty Terms for the required statutory statements.
