Great clear presentation promoting hands on service and expertise. Outlined all the benefits of the product and walked us through the process. It wasn't the cheapest quote but I felt confident that SolArk would be the best option. Installation and delivery matched the presentation.Michelle PhillipsSolar, Perth

Signs to look for
Signs it is time to look at solar
If two or more of these sound like your place, a look at your power bill will tell you whether it is worth it.
Your power bills keep climbing even though the way you use power has not changed.
Someone is home through the day and paying full rate for power the roof could be making.
Your system is ten or more years old and nobody has told you how it is really performing.
Something big is coming: an EV, a pool, ducted air conditioning or a growing household.
You have three quotes that all look the same and no way to tell which one is cut where nobody looks.
You are building or renovating and want the panels, the board and the wiring planned as one job.
What is included
What a SolArk solar install includes
The problem with three solar quotes
They all look plausible. The numbers all point the same direction. The only thing you can genuinely compare is the price, so most people pick the cheapest, and the cheapest is cheap in the places nobody inspects.
We come at it the other way round. SolArk is an electrical contractor that specialised into solar, not a solar company that later hired an electrician. So the switchboard, the isolators, the cable runs and the roof penetrations get the same attention as the panel count, because those are the parts that decide whether the system is still fine years down the track.
Who is actually on your roof
Plenty of solar is sold by a retailer and installed by whoever they can book that week. Whoever turns up is paid per job, so the incentive is to be finished and gone, and the shortcuts land in the places that do not show up on handover day. If something goes wrong two years later, the retailer and the installer are two different companies and neither of them owns it.
We do the lot ourselves. Everyone who works on your job works for SolArk, and nothing is subcontracted. The people who assess, design and install it are deliberately different people, each doing the part they are best at, and there is nobody to point at if it is not right. That is a harder way to run a business and a considerably better one to buy from.
How we size a system
Off your bills and your usage pattern, not the square metres available on your roof. A system that is bigger than your household needs costs you more up front and exports the difference at a rate that keeps falling. We would rather quote the right size and explain why it is smaller than the other quotes on your kitchen table.
We have talked customers out of systems and out of batteries. It costs us the sale and keeps the reputation.
New builds, replacements and upgrades
We install on new homes, replace systems that have reached the end of their life, and upgrade existing systems where the inverter is the limit rather than the panels. Removals are handled properly: old panels, inverters and racking go to recyclers, not to landfill.
Recent installs have run from a modest 6.65kW system in Roleystone up to 26.6kW with battery storage and an EV charger in Ascot. Both were the right size for that household, which is the only measure that matters.
Stop renting your power from Synergy
Every bill you pay is rent on power somebody else made. Panels are the point where you stop renting it and start making it. A system sized off your own bills covers what your house actually uses through the day, and the bill that arrives afterwards is for the difference rather than the lot.
See whether your savings cover the repayments
Finance is available on solar and battery storage through the providers we work with. Whether the savings cover the repayments depends on your usage, your tariff and the system, so we work it out on your actual bill rather than telling you in advance.
- A design worked out on accurate satellite imagery, with every measurement confirmed on the roof and in the switchboard.
- A system sized off your actual power bills and usage pattern.
- Panels, inverter and mounting selected for your roof type and orientation.
- Switchboard checked, and brought up to standard if it needs it.
- All rebate and certificate paperwork lodged for you.
- Our own licensed installers on site. Never subcontracted.
- 25 year workmanship warranty on the solar installation.
- A walk through of how to actually use the system when we hand it over.
How it works
How the job runs
Send your bills
Your last few power bills and a photo of your switchboard. That tells us your usage, when you use it, and whether the board can carry what you are asking for.
We design it properly
Panel layout worked out on accurate satellite imagery of your roof, sized off your real consumption rather than the space available. You get the reasoning, not just a number.
Install day
Our own licensed installers. Every measurement confirmed on site before anything is fixed to your roof, and the switchboard brought up to standard if it needs it.
Handover and rebates
Shown how to actually use the system, all certificate and rebate paperwork lodged for you, and the same number to ring if anything looks off later.
Warranty and aftercare
A 25 year workmanship warranty on our solar and battery installation work, from commissioning, and the same number to ring afterwards. Warranty Terms apply.
FAQs
Questions we get asked
How big a system do I need?
It depends on how much power you use and when you use it, which is why we ask for your last bill or two rather than guessing from your roof. A house with everyone out during the day needs a different answer to one with someone home and the air conditioning running.
What does solar cost in Perth?
We quote per job rather than publishing a price, because a number that is not based on your roof, your switchboard and your usage is a guess. Send your last power bill through and you will get a real figure, with the rebates already deducted.
What about rebates?
We handle the paperwork. Small-scale technology certificates come off your quote as a line item rather than being something you claim later, and where a battery scheme applies we lodge that too. Scheme values change, so we confirm the current figures at quote stage rather than publishing numbers that go stale.
Who actually does the install?
Our own licensed installers. Everyone who works on your job works for SolArk and nothing is subcontracted, which is the reason the workmanship is consistent from one job to the next. The people who assess, design and install it are deliberately different people, each doing the part they are best at.
Do you do commercial solar?
Yes, and we scope it differently to a house. Commercial sizing comes off your interval data and your demand charges rather than annual consumption, because on a business tariff when you draw power often matters more than how much. Send through a recent bill and we will tell you what is worth doing on your roof.

That one document tells us more than a site visit. You will get a real number back, with rebates already taken off.

Jack and his team installed a solar system into my property in Kewdale a few weeks ago. The savings in power is more than 50%. Jack and his team are professional and left the place cleaner than they found it. Highly recommended.Jeff MilesSolar install, Kewdale
